Delhi based Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) will accept CAT score for admissions next year. FMS Delhi admits students through a rigorous process which is similar to selection process adopted by Tier 1 business schools like the IIMs, except that FMS had it’s own entrance test for its initial screening process (written). The Delhi based B School is in the top 10 business school list in India.
FMS entrance test was scheduled to be held on December 4, 2011, following the mishap with the Delhi University (DU refused to help FMS conduct the entrance test this year ‘as per the cited source below‘) FMS had turned the CAT way. FMS joins the elite list of business schools which accept CAT scores atleast for it’s next year admissions, no official communication was made whether FMS will discontinue its entrance test or not as of yet. Earlier IITs declared it’s will to scrap JMET and consider CAT score, the post was published earlier on Career Mitra which can be read from here.
What similarities does FMS entrance test & CAT have, take a look below:
FMS entrance test
There is no prescribed syllabus or format for this multiple choice 2-hour admission test. However the previous admission tests usually comprised the following basic areas:
Common Admission Test (CAT) is a 140 minutes (2 Hours 20 Minutes) test with two sections. 70 minutes per section there will be section wise time limit, you can learn more about CAT 2011 format here (adopted from this year).
It is unclear whether FMS Delhi will continue with CAT or is it just a temporary move to get away with this year’s entrance test. We will update it once any official communication is shed out.
For now FMS aspirants better buy CAT application forms and be prepared. Do tell us your views, what impact it might have on a student who has been preparing for FMS entrance test for next year admissions!
