Diesel hike puts off Kerala University Examinations

The examinations scheduled to be held on 15 September 2012 in Kerala has been postponed due to Harthal call by left parties and BJP to protest against the Diesel price hike by the central government. It is noted that Kannur, Calicut, Cochin, MG and Kerala universities examinations have been effected, the new dates are yet to be announced.

The entrance exam for MPharma course has also been postponed, a further notification with new date is awaited. Harthal is a form of protest practiced by various political parties in Kerala. CPI(M) led Opposition Left Democratic Front in Kerala called for a state-wide harthal against the diesel price increase on September 15. As a result the examinations have been postponed.
